This will be the healthiest coffee you have ever enjoyed! In 5 minutes, you can combine the earthy flavor of turmeric with healthy fats in your morning coffee and feel more energized than ever.

So, what’s so special about turmeric? It is the curcumin, the bright-yellow chemical, that gives turmeric its color and its healing powers! Research suggests that curcumin has anti-inflammatory properties, and could help in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases, such as arthritis, PCOS, high blood glucose, and even cancer. Now, that’s what I call a superfood!

To experience the health effects of turmeric, a relatively large quantity must be consumed, about 2 teaspoons, which would bring the curcumin to 500 mg. Make this Turmeric Butter Coffee and you will be half way there with 1 teaspoon!

I know, 1 teaspoon turmeric is a lot and it does have a strong flavor. But don’t worry! By adding cocoa powder, cinnamon, and ginger root powder, we will create a wonderfully aromatic coffee that is not overwhelming.

To enhance the health benefits of this keto coffee even more, we will add grass-fed butter, coconut oil, and grass-fed gelatin! Who knew that healthy could taste so good! Enjoy it for breakfast or pour it into your YETI for your healthy keto worksite lunch.

Tips for the healthiest butter coffee!

Ingredients for Turmeric Coffee.

Turmeric. Buy high quality turmeric that looks gold-yellow. Adulterated turmeric may look artificial and bright red.

Blender. To make a foamy butter coffee, a blender works best. Alternatively, you can also use a milk frother to combine the ingredients, but the coffee won’t turn out quite as foamy.

Gelatin. I always add gelatin or collagen to my morning coffee or tea. It is great for your skin and joints! However, if you don’t have it at hand, you can omit it (it doesn’t add any flavor to the coffee).

Coffee. To brew my coffee I use the Hamilton Beach Single Serve Maker. It makes one serving of coffee super fast and unlike other one serving coffee machines, you can any type of coffee with their mesh scoop filter.

You can enjoy this super drink in 5 minutes!

    Hi Ludmila,
thank you for your recipe! I have been looking to spice up my afternoon (decaf) coffee and this recipe works perfectly as I can also use up my tumeric powder. I didn’t have any ginger powder but added vanilla extract instead. Still delicious!
As a side question: do you have any apple dessert recipes that could go well with my coffee (we are getting so many apples from our apple tree at the moment :-)?

    • Paul, I’m thrilled that you liked the coffee recipe! I bet it was delicious with the vanilla extract!
I don’t have any apple dessert recipes as of now 🙁 Apples are quite high in sugar which makes them hard to cook with on keto, especially if you want to use a lot. HOWEVER, what I like to do with our apples, is to slice them up and dehydrate them (we use our food dehydrator). They make a great snack for the kids, last all winter, and even I can have a few slices without spiking my blood sugar too much 🙂
      Hope this helps! Ludmila

Good to keep you going without breakfast, actually delivers plenty of energy to postpone solid food for another 1-2 hours in the morning. Thank you! Alternatives for stevia..?
