I’m a big fan of quick desserts that don’t require any baking, ESPECIALLY when they are nutritious and healthy! That’s exactly what this Keto Poppy Seed Cream is. Poppy seeds are not only delicious but are high in fiber and antinutrients. In particular, these tiny seeds are an excellent source of manganese, a trace mineral that is important to our bone health.
The foundation of this keto cream is Greek yogurt, which makes it high in protein and perfect for a special breakfast or a healthy, creamy dessert. An all-rounder, really!
Tips for fool-proof Poppy Seed Cream!
Poppy seeds. Poppy seeds taste both nutty and fruity. To get most out of their flavor (and a less gritty texture), we will grind whole poppy seeds with a coffee grinder. If you don’t have a coffee grinder, try using a mortar and pestle to grind them down (it’s more burdensome, though).
Yogurt. Make sure to use full-fat Greek yogurt! Natural yogurt is higher in carbs and too runny for this recipe.
Blueberries. Blueberries and poppy seeds complement each other both in color and flavor. That’s why I top off this cream with fresh blueberries. However, if you prefer some other kind of berries, go for it!

Keto Poppy Seed Cream
- Add poppy seeds and granular erythritol to grinder and grind down for about 30 seconds.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, lime juice, and poppy seed mixture until smooth. Set aside.
- In a different bowl, beat heavy cream with Swerve confectioner and vanilla extract until peaks form. Fold whipped cream into yogurt mixture until smooth and fluffy.
- To serve, divide poppy seed cream between 4 serving dishes. Top with fresh blueberries. Keeps in the refrigerator for about 4 days.
