These soft Keto Bacon Bread Rolls are simply delicious! Made with crispy bacon, flavorful bacon grease, and completely grain-free!

These will become your favorite savory keto bread rolls! Their texture is very similar to traditional wheat-based rolls – soft and chewy. Unlikely other keto bread you may have tried, they don’t taste eggy or dry. The addition of bacon and bacon grease gives these rolls an incredible umami flavor. So, yum!

You can load up these sturdy keto bread rolls with anything you like: butter, cheese, deli meat, and of course more bacon! They make great breakfast rolls and a wonderful addition to your dinner. My husband and I eat them buttered up as a snack.

Tips for making keto-friendly bacon rolls!

Bacon. Bacon, of course, is the star of this keto show. Choose uncured, nitrite-free bacon slices. Many grocery stores offer uncured bacon.

Chop 5 slices of bacon and pan-fry until crispy. Don’t discard the bacon grease! You need 2 tablespoons of the grease for this recipe.

Other ingredients. Buy whole (full-fat) Greek yogurt. For a smooth dough, use softened cream cheese and eggs at room temperature. Psyllium husk powder gives keto bread a chewy crust. I use the NOW brand.

Shaping. Before you shape the rolls, make sure to let the dough rest for 5 minutes. This will help absorb some of the moisture. To shape, wet your hands, this will prevent the dough from sticking to your fingers. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and shape each part into a round roll.

  • baking sheet

  • Pan-fry the chopped bacon until crispy and set aside on paper towel. Keep 2 tbsp of bacon grease for dough.
  • Preheat oven to 350 °F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, with a hand mixer whisk cream cheese and Greek yogurt until smooth. Whisk in the eggs, apple cider vinegar, and 2 tbsp of bacon grease. Add the almond flour, psyllium husk, nutritional yeast (optional), baking powder, baking soda, and salt, and whisk until smooth. The dough will still feel sticky at this point. Let rest for 5 minutes for the moisture to be absorbed.
  • Stir in the crispy bacon. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts. With slightly wet hands, shape each section into a roll and place onto lined baking sheet. Brush each roll with heavy cream.
  • Bake rolls for about 25 minutes until golden brown.

  1. Use softened cream cheese and room temperature eggs.
  2. To freeze, place rolls inside freezer bag in freezer for up to 1 month. Good on the counter for up to 2 days or up to 5 days in the fridge. Best stored in a bread bag.

  1. 5 stars
This is a wonderful recipe. Great in morning with cup of tea. The bacon fat to mix adds another layer of flavor.

  2. I love bacon bread so much! I wonder if this can be made into a single loaf of bread instead of small rolls. How long would it take to bake it in the oven?

    • I haven’t tried that, but it may work. Probably about 1 hour baking time, but that’s just a guess.
